Awesome!! I am so glad I can help! It really does help to have a good, organized day laid out. It took me a year or two to learn how to take the reigns and set up timelines for couples who didn’t have a planner. I learned the hard way that if you don’t have a good time line, you’re at the mercy for whatever happens… and that means you won’t get good, quality time for pictures. If you have this knowledge from the get go, hopefully I saved you some grief! :D

Also, it just felt good to make the day as sustainable as possible (like using a photographer with environmentally friendly business practices!). The very little money we did spend on centerpieces and decor went to the PTA Thrift stores, the Habitat for Humanity Reuse Store and several other venues that resell items for disabled individuals and survivors of abuse. And then we donate it all back – so those organizations can profit again. Except for maybe a jar of rusty nails we kept… You know, for sentimental value :)

Wow, Carolyn, that is a really unfortunate experience for both you and the man at RDU. I think the thing that keeps us going and strong is the fact that there are clients out there that understand the work, dedication, and talent that it takes to produce the incredible imagery. That is what wakes me up in the morning and keeps me going. I wish that we didn’t have to encounter people like this, but such is life. Keep on keeping on because you know and believe in your talent.

What I think is amusing is that she said “I bet all you fancy photographers wont even read this”… girl is probably getting about 200,000 e-mails today. People don’t realize it, but the photography community is a really tight-knit group. And while there are some bad apples in there, most people are fiercely protective of one another’s rights, property, and abuse from random people. It’s nice.
