Pittsburgh Pet Photographer: Logan Lemewski+Sullivan McSkillet

Every once in a while I meet a person with dogs who says they don’t like cats because cats don’t have any personality. Or they say they only like cats who are nice and friendly. Granted, I am sure there are some not nice/unfriendly cats out there, but every cat I have ever known has had a huge personality… it’s just that they don’t particularly care for many people besides their owners and their closer friends. We are crazy cat people ourselves so I’m quite partial to the feline club, but no matter what your views are – it’s a bit impossible to see these pictures of Logan+Sully and think that cats don’t have personalities.

Logan Lemewski (“Lemmy”) and Sullivan McSkillet (“Sully) are my nephew-cats. They belong to my sister Laura and live with her in Pittsburgh where they win the all-time award for being  the craaaaaziest cats in the entire world (photographic evidence below). She recently referred a wedding to me and wanted to use the referral bucks to get pictures of her furry crew, so I took their portraits before Christmas and documented the crazy: the catnip bubbles, the jumping off of doors, the hopping up on cabinets, the drinking from faucets, the red cat pajamas. They are stinking adorable but also absolutely insane. She’s had many stories over the past few years and it basically boils down to the conclusion that they must be getting their paws on some pretty heavy catnip stored away in some secret stash.

Cat Answer Key: Sully is the black cat, and Lemmy is the grey and white cat.

<3 Love you, Lemmy, Sully, and Laura!

Raleigh Pet Photographer: Fluffhead+Mukluk

“Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!”

Ladies and gentlemen readers of the CSP blog, I present to you a mix of the most hot-mess of a dysfunctional family (pet) portraits I’ve ever done and the cutest pictures ever. It’s a strange combo, I know, but then again – so are Fluffhead and Mukluk. I won’t spend a long time explaining, but long story short, our one and only Alaskan Kate moved a few months ago and acquired a most wonderful roommate named Lindsay. Alaskan Kate moved with her cat Mukluk (my adopted nephew-cat), and Fluffhead is Lindsay’s dog. Little did they know that not only would Kate and Lindsay get along infamously well, but so would their pets. Now the most inseparable odd couple is the cutest pair of furballs on the blog and probably in the world.

So happy birthday, Lindsay! I hope these make you smile! I want to steal your dog, but it’s probably easier just to come over and visit. So without further ado – FLUFF+MUK:

Before I met Fluff, I wasn’t sure where I stood on tiny furry white dogs with tiny little barks. Now I am obsessed. Look at that face.

Little Muk wanted to pose with Kate’s drawing cat. This was the extend of Mukluk’s posing. He is his own cat and does his own thing. He likes you, but sometimes he couldn’t really care less. He’s kinda The Dude of cats.

Mukluk’s face is one of priceless irritability here. I love you, Muk.

1st picture: Fight!

2nd picture: Fight!

3rd picture: What? We are totally innocent.

I love you, Fluff and Muk!

Raleigh Pet Photographer: Fitzgerald

Awww, meet little Fitzgerald. :) He’s 4.5 months old and a rescued stray who is nothing but adorable cuteness! He has a bad case of Stranger Danger like my own cat Buckles and he stayed hidden under tables and shelving units pretty much the whole time (coming out only briefly to take a stab at catching the laser pointer or the feather stick) but he is so so so cute! And during the brief moments when he stopped being incredibly suspicious and concentrated on catching his toys, I was able to get Fitzgerald action shots that capture his loving kitty personality. :)

Fitzgerald was rescued when he was really small by his mom Nikki when he wandered onto her friend’s property. She had to feed him formula since he was so tiny. Now he’s a lot bigger and doing very well in his home. He enjoys playing laser pointer, trying to get on the kitchen table where he’s not allowed, and sitting on the window sill behind the couch. Fitz is such a little sweetheart and had  a good time playing away during his shoot. Enjoy!
