day 56/365

got back from DC this morning! it was lovely there. the cherry blossoms were mostly all down due to a storm they had last week, but a few were still up as well as some other spring trees. we had a ton of fun with our friends and got some rockin’ engagement shots!

so i’ve come to realize that i’m the worst 365 blogger ever, but that, due to my circumstances of being frequently on the road and frequently gone for entire days, that it’s kind of acceptable to skip a day or two here or there. so my “year” of daily blogging might take a year and a month…so what? i only skip days when i’m out of town, and i think that’s totally acceptable. :)

back to business tomorrow! hoping to finish up with a wedding asap and move on to posting some of those and some family portraits within the next week or two.

day 20/365

geoff’s wedding ring came in the other day and i finally got around to taking a photo of it. :) ira helfer of david i. helfer jewelry in pittsburgh pa (the clark building) has been working with us for some time on our rings. geoff designed my engagement ring and worked with him in secret last summer. since then, ira has been amazing and so helpful towards us. he’s currently in the process of making my wedding band as it has to be a thin band above and below the diamond of my engagement ring. he’s been awesome. when we get a chance to go up and visit him, he’s usually decked out in jewelry-making protective gear and steelers accessories. :)

when we were home during christmas, geoff picked out a beautiful silver and black tungsten ring. ira ordered it, shipped it to us, we shipped it back when it was too big, and ira shipped back a smaller one. :) such in the life of anyone planning a wedding currently – the back and forth with the rings is an intricate ordeal…especially if your ring is coming from out of state! but it’s here now – and it fits! and is just chillin’…waiting for the engraving stuff which will come a little further down the line.

here’s a shot of our rings together taken from under a patterned sheet of desk glass from ikea. ring shots are one of my favorite things to photograph…and i’m resisting turning this into a 365 ring photography blog…but it’s hard. ;)
