Ahhh, it’s been 6 years since I last shot a wedding, so it was a fabulous walk down memory lane to photograph people in wedding outfits again, freshly post-courthouse, with a dog and bouquet in tow. :) I had the BEST time with Adair and Andrew, who are two Durham-loving peas in a pod. They were married at the county courthouse that morning, and we met in the evening to photograph them walking around the city where they met and now call home. Nola, their sweet, and calm doggo, joined us. She was accompanied and handled by Katie, a beloved mutual friend of both mine and Adair, when she wasn’t looking extremely adorable while posing for little treats in the photos. We had a lot of fun talking snacks, scary movies, and their upcoming family wedding in Florida. They handled my incessant getting-to-know-you questions and my posing of them in bright, hot sunlight like champs, and I’m so glad that I got to meet them and document the first few hours of their newlywed life together. A huge congratulations to Adair and Andrew!

I first met Andrea when working with Big Dog Little Bed earlier this year and we clicked right away (of course, because Janice only works with the best people!). So I was very excited when Andrea asked me to come over to her and her husband Patrick’s incredible home to photograph them doing what they do best: cooking, playing piano, reading, and living in this beautiful space. But, most importantly, I was also there to document their time with their new adopted rescue dog, Daphne. :D Daphne and I also became fast friends – she is a friendly, spunky, food-motivated little lady who enjoys watching Patrick cook (because then she gets little treats), snuggling up with Andrea on the couch, and playing fetch in the yard. She follows them triumphantly around and seems to consider this her house that Andrea and Patrick are just crashing, and isn’t that really always the case? :) Big thanks to Andrea and Patrick for asking me to come out and document this new time in their lives with their first pet in their amazing new Durham home!

Geoff and I photographed Erin and Jessica’s wedding 10 years ago in 2015, which is so hard to believe! They’ve since had an AMAZING daughter, and this year I was tasked with photographing some multigenerational photos with Erin, Jessica, their daughter, and Jessica’s mom Elizabeth. We had an incredible time at Blackwood Farm Park in Chapel Hill. We took portraits, a picnic was packed, freeze dried mangos were turned into mustaches, and races were won and lost on a hill with a lone tree. Erin and Jessica have been in my CSP life for so long and I was feeling all the feels working with them again and interacting with their intelligent, hilarious, and kind-hearted daughter. She kept everyone laughing and on their toes. We exchanged photos of our cats. Love all these women and the joy they all brought to this photo session.
