It is so crazy to think we only met these guys a few years ago when they were planning their wedding. Then we usurped them as our friends, they bought a house near us, we all gained about twenty pounds worth of the nearby frozen yogurt, and then they had their first kid. We are so happy and proud to call Michele and Jonathan our friends, and so thrilled to finally meet Eli, a very wide-awake bundle of joy who enjoys being awake, not sleeping, being alert as possible, and doing a strange yet almost constant hand motion that looks like he’s summoning either good or evil forces from other dimensions (or perhaps just working on his Jedi skills, as Jonathan would want it). We love these guys, and now we love Eli too. He hasn’t yet seen his father’s or his Uncle Geoff’s Star Wars toy collections yet, but when he does, we’re sure he’ll be impressed.

Lindsay is one of my favorite people ever and is probably now one of our most photographed clients as we induct her into the CSP 4 Timers Club! See time one, time two, and time three here. :) Now that I’ve photographed her and Ken a whole bunch, we’re excited to see them welcome a small but presumably really, really, really good looking child into this world. To celebrate this, we had her stand around and contemplate parenthood in the great wilderness of Durham, NC. Don’t let her serene looks fool you as she is truly one of the funniest people we’ve ever met and we love her. Oh, and every once in a while you’ll see Ken in this shoot because he’s an important part of this whole thing, but not quite so important as to be included in the photos while she was in the purple dress (because he wouldn’t match). We love you too, Ken.

Vivi // At Three Years.

YES!! We were so happy to receive an email from Vivi’s parents expressing their desire to hire us yet again to follow Vivi around on a toddler adventure of epic proportions. We did this last year, and it was fantastic. We were warned that Vivi would neither pose nor listen to any photography directions whatsoever, so we were free to follow her around and see where she’d take us. Last year she was into picking up leaves and sticks and running around trying to open the doors to most buildings in the park. She also liked Mr. Geoff. This year she ditched her interest in picking up leaves and is now into picking up little rocks instead. She’s still picking up sticks, but they’re bigger than last year, and instead of trying to open most of the doors, she tried to open every single door she could find anywhere. Most of the time she’d pretend to hit an imaginary buzzer and say, “Ding-dong!” so at least she’s not just barging into the buildings unannounced. Last year it rained on her session, and this year it rained again. Both years she was fine with it. She still likes Mr. Geoff, she’s still adorable, and still has that amazing hair. VIVI TURNS THREE!
