yesterday kate and i hit up the designer’s downtown market to reunite her with a high school friend. the high school friend, amber, just happens to make super awesome cool headbands and other “whimsical wearables” under the name raimbow tree. she had a ton of her absolutely adorable headbands up for sale at the market yesterday and let me take some shots of them for my blog. they’re incredible!

people who are so crafty amaze me. not only the ideas and design behind the actual craft, but the physical skill that it takes to make something like this is awesome. amber resides in the mountains of north carolina and sells her stuff locally around the state and in alaska, her home state. catch her around town or visit her here:

day 31/365: kate.

my friend alaskan kate moved to raleigh a few weeks ago and we’ve been hanging around town. we went to the designer’s downtown market today and met up wit her friend from high school that makes nifty felted headbands (more on those later). stopped to pose by a raleigh mural on the way back.

note the little red door inserted into the concrete wall to the right of kate’s foot. say what? it didn’t open; looked as if someone broke off the door knob. hope the poor gnome isn’t locked inside.

why 365?

and so it begins!

cameron village is a great place in raleigh to go to experience springtime. not only do the shops rock, but it’s covered in beautiful flowering trees that appear to bloom overnight. geoff and i went down to the village draft house for dinner this evening when i noticed them for the first time. :) going outside in the morning without a coat and now this? couldn’t ask for more! i love you, spring.
