Jami+Jack+Cory // Pet Photography

I have a soft spot in my heart for Corgis. Maybe it’s the stubby legs. Maybe it’s the stubby body. Maybe it’s the bat ears and the ridiculous smile they always seem to have plastered on their faces. I’m not sure, but I love them. So I was very, very excited to photograph two Corgis at the same time. Jami adopted Jack and Cory when she was living in Guam many years ago. Jack (black and white) could no longer be taken care of  by his family, and Cory (yellow) was in the very unfortunate situation of being involved in a dog fighting ring. Jami rescued them both, brought them back to the states, and they have been thankfully spoiled rotten ever since and are living very happy and full doggy lives. Unbelievably, Jack is 17 years old, and Cory is 9, but they’re super active and obviously super adorable. They love Jami very much, but Jack decided that his true love might actually be Geoff (who was coincidentally holding the treats). I couldn’t really get Geoff alone for enough time to devise a fool-proof plan to steal both of Jami’s dogs, so they did go home with her instead of us, but at least I have pictures.

Jessica+Brett // NC Engagement

  • Bret Likes: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, dogs, The Wire, IPA, and Cookie Crisp.
  • Bret Dislikes: Spiders, tuna, shopping for clothes.
  • Bret’s Unusually Impressive Feats of Accomplishment: Air Force veteran, served as Middle East and Korean intelligence analyst (in Korean he worked in an underground bunker and can speak fluent Korean), worked at the NSA, MBA from John Hopkins and has scuba dived with sharks.
  • Jessica Likes: Jeopardy, reading, fleece pajama pants, macaroni and cheese, reminding her loved ones of any ailment she thinks she might have.
  • Jessica Dislikes: Flying, doing the dishes, getting up early, and all the ailments she thinks she has.
  • Jessica’s Unusually Impressive Feats of Accomplishment: Taught in Psychology and English departments at Harvard, recruited to teach two Psychology courses at John Hopkins, started GlazerTalks LLC and and travels internationally to teach about Positive Psychology.
  • Ollie’s Likes: Playing soccer with a tennis ball, sticks, giving high-fives.
  • Ollie’s Dislikes: Dressing up as a firefighter for Halloween.
  • Ollie’s Unusually Impressive Feats of Accomplishment: Has visited 15 US states so far and is the handsomest puppy on Earth.

Sara + Joe’s Snipes Farm Wedding

Joe captured Geoff’s heart by being radically obsessed with the Smashing Pumpkins to the same exact degree as Geoff himself, and Sara captured my heart by showing up to our consultation with a side shave haircut that I was also sporting at the time. Since then we’ve liked them a whole lot, and nothing that they do makes us like them less, just more, so our liking them increases all the time. They had succulents at their wedding! And Sara wore cute mint green wedding shoes! And there was dry lavender all over the place that I think they secretly chose for me so I could breathe deeply in whenever I needed to relax. Their friend Brittini made me delicious gluten-free cupcakes and they danced to REM… and Hanson. Then Joe found out that a former member of the Smashing Pumpkins has since joined a band with the rest of Hanson, and Joe’s head exploded, and we went home.

  • Interesting Fact: We once took an overnight road trip to Philadelphia specifically to run up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art a la Rocky but Kanye West was playing a show there that night and had built a stage, blocking said steps from the public (this is the second time this has happened to Sara).
