ahhhhhhhhhhhh i finally got my wedding ring in yesterday!!!

it was weird not having my engagement ring for a while, but it was worth it. ira helfer of david i. helfer jewlery (clark building in pittsburgh, pa) made both my engagement ring and wedding ring. geoff designed them both and i love them!! both geoff and ira did an amazingly awesome job and i’ll never take my rings off ever ever ever. except maybe in the shower or when i’m gardening or something weird.

so here it is!!! my engagement ring fits inside my wedding bands (there are two…they’re welded together in the back) to make one awesome ring that geoff says makes me look like i “won the super bowl.” :)

thanks, geoff…for the design, the thoughtfulness, the rings, and everything you do every day. :)

and thanks, ira, for being an amazing jeweler who’s able to do anything!

my ring with geoff’s ring… i know, i know, i’m totally stealing all of my wedding photographer’s shots before the wedding.

why 365?

day 20/365

geoff’s wedding ring came in the other day and i finally got around to taking a photo of it. :) ira helfer of david i. helfer jewelry in pittsburgh pa (the clark building) has been working with us for some time on our rings. geoff designed my engagement ring and worked with him in secret last summer. since then, ira has been amazing and so helpful towards us. he’s currently in the process of making my wedding band as it has to be a thin band above and below the diamond of my engagement ring. he’s been awesome. when we get a chance to go up and visit him, he’s usually decked out in jewelry-making protective gear and steelers accessories. :)

when we were home during christmas, geoff picked out a beautiful silver and black tungsten ring. ira ordered it, shipped it to us, we shipped it back when it was too big, and ira shipped back a smaller one. :) such in the life of anyone planning a wedding currently – the back and forth with the rings is an intricate ordeal…especially if your ring is coming from out of state! but it’s here now – and it fits! and is just chillin’…waiting for the engraving stuff which will come a little further down the line.

here’s a shot of our rings together taken from under a patterned sheet of desk glass from ikea. ring shots are one of my favorite things to photograph…and i’m resisting turning this into a 365 ring photography blog…but it’s hard. ;)
