the whiteheads are such an amazing family…two wonderful parents and 5 beautiful children! we had so much fun on our shoot last year and even more fun this year. this family is just great! we took the shots at nc state arboretum where the kids ran around and had a great time. it was crazy to see how much the kids had grown in just one year!

the light was so nice because we shot in late afternoon…it went back and forth between cloudy and occasional warm rays of sun. it gave us a lot of nice summery-type light.

this little girl is amazing! she was very opposed to getting her picture taken last year, then she came back this year and started requesting poses and backgrounds! it was hilarious…not only is she adorable, but we have the same name! ;)

this little tot had a photoshoot all to himself due to the one-year-old-ants-in-the-pants-syndrome that caused him to be absent from some of the shots with his older sisters. :) but he sure knows how to work it for the camera when he sits for a while! look at those blue eyes!

day 18/365

locopops.

for those of you who live in the raleigh/durham area, you should know that locopops is the best popsicle place ever. if you haven’t yet experienced the joy, you should get there as quickly as possible. before i moved to raleigh, i didn’t even know that someplace like this might even exist where common and bizarre ingredients are mixed together to create the best tasting thing that $2.50 can buy. i am in love.

carolyn scott photography’s favorite flavors: chocolate brownie, mojito, cherry lime, pomegranate tangerine, and today’s guest star that stole my heart: thin mint. ::sigh::

day 14/365

more gloom today in raleigh as we continue to head through the nastiness that’s been this winter. and although it’s certainly not as bad as pittsburgh, i really can’t wait until it’s over. things started to bloom in the beginning of february then abruptly died after that snow we got. then we started on this steak of what’s now become perpetual overcast and drizzle with occasional periods of sun. thankfully the weather for the wedding i photographed last weekend was beautiful, but it was a rare case of good weather in an otherwise nasty winter. looking forward to the spring so i can stop dragging around pants that have wet hems for a while. baah.
