Lacey and David met while attending a computer programming bootcamp inside American Tobacco. Bootcamp makes it sound kind of scary… like they had to do a lot of push-ups or else be forced to code an entire WordPress theme from scratch. But they made it through! And now are successful computer people typing numbers into the interwebs and making things happen (that’s how it works, right?). They’re getting married in Florida, where Lacey is originally from, but decided to return to the scene of the bootcamp to have their engagement pictures taken with us! They live in Durham where they hang out with their dogs and play a lot of Yoshi video games. David proposed by reprogramming the end of the world 1-1 map of Yoshi’s Island. I didn’t even know that you could reprogram a popular video game map to bend it to your will unless you were some kind of super computer hacker but apparently this is an actual thing. Lacey played the game, and at the end it spelled out “Will You Marry Me?” in coins. There she was presented with two tubes: the green ‘yes’ tube and the red ‘no’ tube. Lacey got confused at this last part and accidentally took the red tube where she fell into a pit of spikes. She must’ve eventually took the green tube because here they are in pictures being obviously engaged. Congratulations, Lacey and David!
We were lucky enough to come across these two by way of Kaylene and Brandon! Jen was Brandon’s neighbor when they lived in Georgia. After Georgia, we kind of lose track of Jen’s whereabouts. :) Aaron’s from Ohio, but after Ohio we kind of lose track of him too. :) Before you think we’re bad people who just don’t pay attention to our clients, know that both Jen and Aaron are military, so cut some slack! It gets confusing after about four states. :D
Jen’s currently in the Air Force in HR and Aaron’s a paratrooper in the Army. They met in college and right now are having to be apart for a little while due to military obligations (Jen just returned from deployment and Aaron is currently getting deployed shortly). They’re currently planning a spring wedding in Charleston, SC. It’s a hard schedule but when you’re as completely adorable as these guys, you can see why it’s easy for them to stay together. :) We had an amazing time getting to know them on what was a beaaaautiful sixty-some degree February day in Durham.
These two are the greatest of the great and we are so thankful that we were able to work with them! Angela and Terence live in Durham, but Terence is in the Marine Corps and therefore is often in different cities (currently Missouri), but they thankfully had a couple of weeks together recently where Terence was back home. :) Angela quickly set up an engagement session with us because they may not be in the same place together before their wedding in December and we were so excited because THEY were so excited and then even more excited when we learned about their cats (who kind of look like our cats)!
These two love video games (Angela has a Pokemon DS and Terence has a Zelda DS), their cats and American bulldog, and seem like they’re pretty solid at RockBand. They met through a party where Terence basically said, “Hello, I have a puppy” (paraphrased) and Angela was like, “Yes, puppies are cute, you must be a great guy” (paraphrased). Then they really did go play Rockband and are now going to live happily ever after. They’re getting married in December in South Carolina and we couldn’t be more happy for them or to have documented this awesome time in their lives. :)
