It is so exciting (but also terribly nerve-wracking) to be asked to do photo sessions for other photographers, and during this session I might’ve tripped a few times, been unable to conjugate my verbs correctly, and also had my cameras on the wrong straps, and the wrong lenses on the wrong cameras. Thankfully Tosha and Brian laughed at me in a way that didn’t seem like they totally pitied me and we were able to make it through. Tosha and Brian are the brains (and beauty) behind Story & Rhythm, a Raleigh photographer and DJ duo! And how cool is that? Tosha takes amazing photographs, and Brian handles all the sweet reception jams. It’s a pretty neat business model and Tosha and Brian are pretty neat people who came up with it. But every good team needs updated pictures every once in a while, so together we ran around Raleigh and shot these promo sessions for their website for them and were so happy to be asked to do so. :) Meet Tosha and Brian!

We were so honored to be asked by Sara and Sam, two amazing photographers behind McCormick and Moore Photography in Holly Springs, to shoot some promo shots for them as well as an updated couple session in and around their house. They have four cats so we said absolutely (we would’ve said yes anyway, but sometimes I need the blog to sound dramatic). We got to meet some of the cats (including, briefly, Lady Esmeralda von Poofington, the best cat name of all time), and we also got to teach Sara and Sam how to appropriately name the plagues and diseases that you’re spreading through the world in the board game Pandemic (it’s no fun unless you name them). They like a lot of games and a lot of good tv. Sara likes reading and making jewelry, and Sam likes cooking and the numbers 6 and 28. But when they’re not being awesome at home, they’re being awesome out taking pictures of families, pets, and kids at their photo business, and we couldn’t be happier to be asked to take pictures of these two photographers!

Amy and Jon “…are Californians who hail from Los Angeles but we are not snooty and we hate juice fasts.” :) I can’t speak for the juice fasts, but they certainly aren’t snooty and are up for practically anything. They’re happy-go-lucky people who just happen to be really really pretty. Despite moving back to California this month (this time to the San Francisco area), they wanted to have engagement pictures taken in Durham since it means a lot to them. They moved here when Jon decided to attend business school, and together they adopted their first puppy and got engaged. So even though they’re moving back, they’ve come to really love Durham and see it as a big part of their relationship. They wanted nature, tall trees, skylines, American Tobacco views, and urban city backgrounds. So we ran around the Eno! We hopped around downtown! We did all this without anyone contracting poison ivy and only running into only ONE instance of urine around an elevator! :D You can’t ask for a more successful session than that. ;) So with these pictures we bid a fond farewell to Amy and Jon and wish them the best of luck returning to California.
