day 31/365: kate.

my friend alaskan kate moved to raleigh a few weeks ago and we’ve been hanging around town. we went to the designer’s downtown market today and met up wit her friend from high school that makes nifty felted headbands (more on those later). stopped to pose by a raleigh mural on the way back.

note the little red door inserted into the concrete wall to the right of kate’s foot. say what? it didn’t open; looked as if someone broke off the door knob. hope the poor gnome isn’t locked inside.

why 365?

too much introspection can be a dangerous thing, but not enough will quickly find you without friends and/or with several jail sentences.

advice for all of humanity:

– start thinking of what your impact is on the lives of others (good and bad)

– stop criticizing people because it makes you feel better

– have a little empthay

– have a little sympathy

– know the difference between the two

– “be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” -plato

– and get this button. wear it. say it. remind yourself:

recently i showcased pictures of dolfy taken with my new portrait lens, but today i added pictures of this beautiful little girl to my portfolio! there were some super sweet shots which are under portraits>kids in my portfolio, and here are some others that came in close seconds.

after several days of following her around with a camera, she was a little irritated and began to say “bye bye!” when i would pull out the camera, haha.

in other news, the weather should be getting nicer soon and i have a pretty booked spring in terms of portraits and a wedding to shoot in may. other than that i’ve been filling my time reading, watching 24, and playing resident evil 5. the weather better break soon so i can get out of the house. ;)
